Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising began in 2008-2009 season as an A class winterguard in the TRWEA circuit.

With 11 members, PR consistently placed top three in local competitions.

2009 Program: "The Luckiest" Set to Ben Fold's piece, "The Luckiest", Phoenix Rising's inaugural show expressed the talents of each performer. Framed to a blue background, the show expressed feelings of compassion that coincides with any relationship. From rich golden flags, to delicate blues, and finishing in a glorious red ensemble feature, the work captured and captivated audiences.

For it's first season, Phoenix Rising exceeded many expectations. The group worked well together and shared many laughs. After their first show, the guard began to be taken seriously as a competitive force in the TRWEA circuit. At the Pittsburgh WGI regional, Phoenix Rising almost made finals and afterwards made an exciting push to TRWEA championships, where they won second place.
